The total number of category four and five hurricanes has almost doubled in the last 30 years, animals are moving closer to the poles and malaria is spreading rapidly to places up to 7,000 ft above sea level. This information and more can be found in former Vice President Al Gore's book and documentary "An Inconvenient Truth."

Gore's popular documentary explains the concept of global warming and what individuals can do to help.

He will visit Ohio State on Sunday May 4 at the Schottenstein Center to discuss his message about global warming and ways to take action. Tickets went on sale yesterday at the Schottenstein Center Box Office and Ticketmaster locations, according to a press release. The cost of a single ticket is $37.50 plus service charges, which might be expensive for the typical college student.

Alexia Dillard, a sophomore in dental hygiene, said she probably would not go because of the price of tickets.

"Senator Obama came to OSU and it was free," she said. "I think $40 is a ridiculous amount to pay for the average college student."

Kate Christobek, Undergraduate Student Government president, said she was thrilled that Gore chose to visit OSU.

"Since being vice president of the United States, Al Gore has become a well renowned environmentalist and helped start our country's discussion on global warming and the future of our planet," she said.

James Hamil, a graduate student in electrical and computer engineering, disagreed.

"I'm actually a little skeptical about Al Gore and global warming," Hamil said. "I really don't know who he is trying to target, but college students more than likely will not pay that much for a ticket."
