Police were called to Summit Street and East 17th Avenue early Saturday morning on reports of a man who was bleeding and standing on his head. When officers arrived they found 37-year-old Yellow Springs resident Stephen P. Ali, who was highly intoxicated. Police arrested Ali for disorderly conduct because he could not care for himself, according to the police report.
Grill thief traps student in home Someone stole a grill from a 21-year-old Ohio State student's porch on West Norwich Avenue Sunday night, and then the thief wedged patio furniture against the front and rear doors so the student could not leave her house.
Golf ball vandals show support for Cavaliers On Saturday, a 20-year-old Ohio State student reported to police that a golf ball shattered the double-paned rear window at her East Norwich Avenue home on Friday, May 22. The golf ball had "go cavs" written on it.
Two arrested for stealing from car Police arrested 30-year-old John T. Shepherd and 28-year-old Billy R. Lewis, residents of the Near East Side, after witnesses saw them break into a car at 3:12 p.m. Friday. Witnesses say they saw the two men smash a window and steal an iPod and CD player from a car parked near Iuka and Indianola avenues.
Witness chases brick thrower away A 67-year-old man reported to police that someone threw a brick through a window at his home on the 2000 block of Iuka Avenue in an attempt to enter the house Friday night. A witness who saw the man through the rock chased him away.
Two homes burglarized because of unlocked doors While a 21-year-old OSU student was with his friends on the second-floor balcony of his home on the 2000 block of North High Street, a burglar entered through an unlocked side door and stole the student's laptop computer. The student and his friends touched the doorknob after the burglar left, so police did not collect fingerprints.
Two 21-year-old OSU students told police that their East 16th Avenue apartment was burglarized Friday night. The students say they left the door unlocked because one of their roommates was still home. Their roommate didn't see or hear anything, but a burglar stole two iPods and a laptop computer from the apartment.
Two cars stolen near campus A 55-year-old Cincinnati resident reported to police that someone stole his Acura Integra, which his son had been borrowing, from a private lot on West Eight Avenue Saturday night.
Someone stole a 19-year-old OSU student's car between Thursday night and noon Friday while it was parked on the 2200 block of North High Street.
