Opera Columbus Enjoy Gioacchino Rossini's operatic take on a classic fairy tale in the Columbus Opera debut of "Cinderella." Rossini's "La Cenerentola" was first performed in Turin in 1896. Rossini composed "La Cenerentola" after the success of "The Barber of Seville," both written while he was only in his mid-20s. Through most of the 19th century, its popularity rivaled that of the "Barber," but it slowly fell out of fashion as time wore on. Opera Columbus is the only professional opera company in Central Ohio, resulting in innovative mainstage productions of repertoire from across music theater's style spectrum. Come enjoy one of opera's classic works.

What: "Cinderella" ("La Cenerentola" by Rossini), presented by Opera Columbus When: Friday, Feb. 29; Sunday, March 2 Where: The Ohio Theater Time: Friday at 8 p.m.; Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets: Start at $27.50, visit operacolumbus.org for information
