Will Ferrell's long over-due comedy "Step Brothers" hit theaters this past Friday, and it actually makes people laugh. Alongside co-star John C. Reilly, Ferrell finally delivers a performance fans can enjoy.

This is Ferrell's first funny role since "Kicking and Screaming," not counting his small, yet also hilarious appearance in "Wedding Crashers."

"Step Brothers" tells the tale of two 40-year-old men, Dale (Reilly) and Brennan (Ferrell), who refuse to grow up. Their respective parents, Robert Doback (Richard Jenkins) and Nancy Huff (Mary Steenburgen), get married bringing Dale and Brennan under one roof.

The film is not one for audiences who dislike vulgarity, since the two stepbrothers - who start off hating one another - conjure up the vilest things to do to each other.

At one point in the movie, Dale wakes Brennan, telling him not to move because he's placing a rattrap between Brennan's legs.

They also spend the duration of the movie coming up with various witty ways to insult one another.

Dale and Brennan quickly become best friends, however, after they sabotage each other's job interview, leading to the creation of their own music company.

Dale's father - or "Mr. Doback" as Brennan continuously refers to him - gets fed up with the two grown men living at home and acting like children. This eventually leads to his divorce from Brennan's mother, Nancy.

Ferrell and Reilly are brilliantly natural together. During on-screen fights, the two seem as though they make everything up as they go, mimicking college-student behavior.

Reilly plays a perfect stepbrother to Ferrell. He is the yin to Ferrell's yang, which is why the two are so convincing.

The movie is every bit as funny as promised by the previews. It's the perfect movie for college students. For those fans of the vulgarity in "Superbad", the word choice in "Step Brothers" will make you feel right at home.
