For 24 hours on Tuesday and Wednesday, members of the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity and Hillel kept vigil on the Oval in remembrance of the Holocaust. The vigil is held to commemorate Yom HaShoah or Holocaust Remembrance Day, which began at sundown Sunday and ended at sundown Monday.

During those 24 hours the fraternity brothers said prayers, lit candles and read the names of those who perished more than 50 years ago.

"This is to commemorate victims of all genocides," said Ian Young, a junior in security and intelligence.

They take this time to try to help the problems of the world by collecting pennies for a program called "Pennies for Peace" said OSU alumna Naomi Friedman.
