Ken-Yon Rambo, Ohio State freshman wide receiver, was arrested early Sunday morning after a fight at the River Club restaurant, and was found to be carrying marijuana. Rambo was arrested on charges of drug abuse, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, said a police dispatcher. He was released from the Franklin County Jail on Sunday morning after posting bail of $110. Police said they were called to the downtown restaurant, 679 W. Long St., to investigate a disturbance early Sunday. When police arrived at about 2:30 a.m., they saw several people fighting and repeatedly ordered them to stop. The manager on duty at the River Club Sunday night would not comment on the incident. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound receiver from Cerritos, Calif., was arrested just hours after the Buckeyes returned from a victory against the Missouri Tigers in Columbia. Rambo had a 42-yard kickoff return in the game, and has seen an ample amount of playing time this season, but has yet to start. Rambo met with coaches at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center on Sunday afternoon, but refused to comment. "Sorry, I don't have time to talk right now," he said before going into the locker room. OSU Athletic Director Andy Geiger said in a press release issued Sunday night that Rambo will not be suspended or dismissed from the team. "Coach (John) Cooper and I have met with Ken-Yon and talked to several eyewitnesses who were at the scene of last night's disturbance," said Geiger. "...it is our belief that while Ken-Yon was at the site of the disturbance, he did not in any way perpetuate the situation, nor did he contribute to the general melee that took place." Geiger issued no statement in regards to the drug abuse charges. Police reports say Rambo and another OSU student, junior Charles Lewis, refused to quit fighting and tangled with officers. Both were arrested and transported to jail. It was not clear whether Lewis and Rambo were fighting each other. They are to appear in Franklin County Municipal Court for arraignment today at 9 a.m. Lewis was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, obstructing justice and misconduct in an emergency. Rambo's arrest comes three weeks after Buckeyes basketball coach Jim O'Brien kicked three players off the team. O'Brien on Sept. 8 removed Shaun Stonerook, Jermaine Tate and Trent Jackson from the team. Stonerook was kicked off because of grade problems. Tate did not follow coaches orders, and Jackson was arrested after an altercation with police. "I don't think you can put these two things together," said Steve Snapp, sports information director. The athletic department is investigating the situation and refuses to comment further until all of the details are known, Snapp said.
