Clinton not above law, investigation
If it were just his sexual escapades, I personally would not have too much a problem with him, other than embarrassment. But... if he lied about his shoe size on the stand in a U.S. court, that's perjury, no matter how trivial the subject matter. So, if he lied about having sex with Monica Lewinsky, he committed perjury. No one has any business telling me that I have no business holding my President to the very same laws by which I am held. Here, in America, perjury is a high crime, and by the rights my fathers of fathers have fought and died for, no American is above them... no one. The day someone allows my President to be above these laws is the day that someone spits on my flag, my country and me. If he did not commit these high crimes (perjury, obstruction of justice, etc.) then he is not guilty. But by no means does "innocent until proven guilty" mean "immune from investigation," even if you are the President of the United States, even if the economy is good, even if he has pulled a child from a burning building. That's what makes America America. And calling the chief prosecuting investigator the spear head of a right wing conspiracy should NEVER bar the investigation to continue. Left wingers can yell at right wingers all they want about the imposition of morals on everyone, and I'll agree with them. But I will NEVER agree that an investigation authorized by Attorney General Janet Reno and a federal three-judge panel should be halted because some want to turn a perjury investigation into a sexual investigation. Every media show and talk show on television is talking about this, and none are mentioning that perjury may be at stake here. That is the whole problem we have with people right now not being educated to the actual purpose behind the investigation. In summary: Sex? I'm embarrassed, but big deal, right? Potential perjury? By all means, he should be investigated as the common man would be, given the same evidence presented to Janet Reno.
