Nathaniel A. Brown fired at least eight rounds into a crowded room of cubicles before he put the gun to his head and pulled the trigger one last time, according to reports released by police and the county coroner’s office Thursday. Many of the shots from Brown’s two handguns struck Larry Wallington, 48, in the neck and head, said Franklin County Coroner Jan Gorniak.

Two Ohio State employees sued the university Thursday, claiming they contracted a serious lung disease last year while working at Hitchcock Hall. Olga Stavridis and Amy Franklin, who work at the Ohio State College of Engineering Career Services, became ill with a lung infection called histoplasmosis.

An Ohio State custodial worker who shot and killed one of his bosses and wounded another spent time in prison and had a violent work record, but none of that turned up in a background check performed for the university. The art of sixteen seniors graduating at the end of Winter Quarter will be shown at Hopkins Hall Gallery. The students, who will graduate with bachelors’ degrees in fine arts, will present pieces from their studio theses work. Media including sculpture, painting, drawing, glass work, photography and ceramics will be on display at the second annual exhibition to honor Winter Quarter graduates.

Ohio State’s freeze on tuition for resident undergraduates, which is in its third year, will end in July. A special committee of the Board of Trustees will meet this month to hear recommendations for tuition next year and beyond. The date of that meeting, which will be open to the public, has not yet been determined, but will be announced a week before the meeting, said Bill Shkurti, OSU’s outgoing chief financial officer and senior vice president for Business and Finance.
