At about 1:50 p.m. Feb. 28, a truck driver reported a person jumped into the Olentangy River near West Dodridge Street.

Columbus Police were dispatched at 1:52 p.m.

Soon after the truck driver called the police unable to provide a description, a jogger called and said the jumper was a white man dressed in green, a Columbus Police Department dispatcher said.

Police suspect the jumper could be from a homeless camp near the area.

“We do not know what caused the man the jump,” the dispatcher said.

“The water was high and moving fast,” she said. “There is no investigation right now…nothing has been found.”
