The Ohio State men’s golf team took first place in a field of 14 teams at the Villanova Wildcat Invitational this week at White Manor Country Club in Malvern, Pa.

The 11-shot win gave the Buckeyes their second win of the season after shooting a combined 38-over par, 890.

Junior Matt Turner led the way for the Buckeyes recording a one-under-par, 212, giving him the top individual finish for the tournament, along with his first individual win as a Buckeye.

Three other Buckeyes also finished in the top ten including senior Dan Charen, who finished at 11-over par, and senior Alex Redfield and freshman Boo Timko both finishing at 12-over par.

Delaware and St. John’s finished tied for second with team scores of 901, while host Villanova took fourth with a score of 902.

The Buckeyes will host the Robert Kepler Invitational at the Ohio State University Golf Club’s Scarlet course on Apr. 14.
