Rising star 2 Chainz might be performing at Ohio State.

The rapper, whose real name is Tauheed Epps, posted on his Facebook page Tuesday that he would be performing 7 p.m. Aug. 23 at OSU. No other details were given, and the event has since been removed from his page.

The date falls during the first scheduled week of Autumn Semester classes, also known as campus’ Welcome Week.

Varun Ramanujam, Ohio Union Activities Board concert chair, said OUAB plans to announce its Welcome Week Concert lineup August 2 and has not confirmed 2 Chainz as a performer at the concert.

“In regards to the artist 2 Chainz, we have not confirmed this artist for our Welcome Week Concert at the moment,” said Ramanujam in an email.  “We have and are still exploring options and he is on our list however, we do not have that confirmed or any contract in the work at the moment.”

2 Chainz got his start in the music industry performing under the stage name Tity Boi with Playaz Circle, which was signed to Ludacris’ record label Disturbing tha Peace. The group is most arguably known for its 2007 hit song “Duffle Bag Boy” which featured Lil’ Wayne.

Currently signed to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Music record label, which is a part of the Island Def Jam Music Group, 2 Chainz has collaborated with artists such as Justin Bieber, Drake, Chris Brown and Wiz Khalifa.

His new album “Based On A T.R.U Story” is scheduled to be released later this year.

2 Chainz performed in Columbus last Friday at Newport Music Hall.
