Just in time for Valentine’s Day, bestselling romance novelist Nicholas Sparks is slated to come to campus.

The Ohio Union Activities Board announced an event called “An Evening with Nicholas Sparks” via Twitter Wednesday. Sparks is scheduled to speak on Feb. 11 at 8 p.m.

MacGregor Obergfell, OUAB lectures chair, called the event the perfect way to start off OUAB’s February “Romance Week.”

“OUAB is very excited to bring such a renowned author in Nicholas Sparks to campus for the Ohio State community,” Obergfell said in an email. “This is a great opportunity for students to learn about the creative writing process, the experience of seeing one’s work transformed into a major motion picture, and great ways to pay forward your success.”

Eight of Sparks’ novels have been turned into movies, including “The Notebook,” “The Last Song” and “Safe Haven,” which is set to release in theaters on Feb. 14.

Tickets are scheduled to be released Jan. 23 at 5 p.m. the Ohio Union Information Center.
