The Ohio Union Activities Board has announced director Lee Daniels’ lecture scheduled for Thursday night has been postponed indefinitely, according to the board’s website.

Citing “an unforeseen personal matter,” OUAB’s website says the director is hoping to reschedule and is considering other dates for the event.

The event, titled “The Man Behind the Lens: Lee Daniels,” was set to take place at the Archie M. Griffin East Ballroom in the Ohio Union at 7:30 p.m.

Daniels is a Hollywood producer and director who has produced seven major films within the last 13 years, including 2001’s “Monster’s Ball,” 2009’s “Precious” and 2013’s “Lee Daniels’ The Butler.”

OUAB’s website directed ticket holders for Thursday’s event to hold onto tickets for the time-being.

Several critics said Daniels as well as the cast of “The Butler” deserved an Oscar nomination. The Academy Award nominees were announced Thursday morning.
