Fans watching Ohio State football games at Ohio Stadium can keep standing as much as they want.

Multiple reports emerged this week saying OSU fans can text the word ‘BRUTUS’ to a university-provided number if they experience issues with other spectators. While some reports stated those issues could include fans choosing to stand during game play, an OSU spokesman told The Lantern in an email Wednesday that there is no such rule in place that would prevent standing during a game.

“Fans can stand all they want,” the spokesman said. “No policy exists that prevents standing.”

The spokesman said the number fans can text to report issues with other spectators is “nothing new.”

The Buckeyes are scheduled to play their 2014 home opener on Saturday against Virginia Tech at 8 p.m.
