A female student was sexually assaulted on campus early Saturday morning, according to an Ohio State public safety alert.

The alert stated the female student reported she was sexually assaulted in her residence hall room after meeting two men at a North High Street bar who offered to walk with her back to her room.

The incident was reported to have occurred between 1:15 and 2 a.m., according to OSU police records.

The student reported the incident later that afternoon, at about 5 p.m. The alert was issued at about 10:30 p.m.

University Police are investigating the incident. A public safety notice is issued by University Police when a crime occurs that is deemed to be of concern to the OSU community or pose a continuing threat.

This is the third public safety notice issued this academic year, the second involving sexual violence.
