Country singer Miranda Lambert tweeted her outrage over Chris Brown's performances at the 54th annual Grammy Awards Feb. 12.

Nicki Minaj's outlandish performance Sunday wasn't the only aspect of the 54th annual Grammy Awards that some people found unsettling. Country musician Miranda Lambert had a particularly hard time understanding why Chris Brown was such a prominent figure of the evening.

On Monday, the singer tweeted "Chris Brown twice? I don't get it. He beat on a girl," and "Not cool that we act like that didn't happen. He needs to listen to Gunpowder and lead and be put back in his place. Not at the Grammys."

"Gunpowder and Lead" is a song Lambert co-wrote in 2007, expressing her plans to shoot her abusive husband when he is released from jail. While this might sound a little cruel, I can't say I completely disagree.

If Lambert was truly suggesting Brown be shot for his actions, then I would say she's gone a little crazy, but I don't think that is the case. She was merely showing Brown that some women are capable of fending for themselves and wouldn't think twice to do so. It was her way of telling him that just because he got away with it once doesn't mean he will again.

Personally, I believe Lambert was completely in the right on this one. I respect Brown for his music and talent, but as a human being, I think he has a lot to prove. Any man who lays a hand on a woman is a coward. They lack not only self-control and self-respect, but respect for others as well. I don't think his punishment was severe enough, and I definitely think it was too soon for him to be a Grammy performer, let alone twice in one night, as if he was being awarded for accomplishing an impossible feat.

Look at the situation on a local level. If somebody in our community breaks the law, especially when an act is directed towards someone else, we are not quick to forgive. If they beat a woman or child, we label them and look at them in a completely different light. But because of his celebrity caliber and his dashing good looks, a majority of the country is willing to turn the other cheek. We like to think that celebrities live this fantasy life and that the negative things they do don't really happen, but I can assure you this is not the case.

Brown is a human being, and his actions only further proved that. No matter how much fame or fortune you have, you can mess up. He was treated with leniency because he is a public figure and has a lot more proving to do to earn my respect not only as a person, but especially as a man.

Kudos to you, Lambert, for being brave enough to say what a lot of us were thinking.

She is a hypocrit. I personally find her being a homewreacker deplorable and I say keep reminding her of it.

I am sorry but I do not think she should have made those comments. She is putting down other artists because they are not like her and they do not sing country. Country is not my favorite either but I would not put down the performers. The fans like the artists- that is why they are nominated. Then you have her comments on Chris Brown. Yes, he did wrong but what about Glen Campbell. You cannot judge one and not judge the other. Is it okay for one person to beat a spouse but not Chris Brown? You should never hit anyone- man to woman or woman to man. But, you can't blast one person but praise someone else.

Hmmm Miranda Lambert on Chris Brown...an adulterer showing disdain for a woman beater...the adulterer's adUlterous husband celebrating another woman beater...quite a nice mix don't you think?

I'm truly upset with Miranda. Shes a newlywed stick to what you best(which is being a homewrecker) stop tweeting about other artists and concentrate on your own music. I don't agree with what Chris did but why is her focus on him, focus on your husband and hope he does't abuse you. I'm done with her.

Although I agree with her stance on abuse, I just don't think he deserved to be there because he didn't sing. It is the Grammy's. It is supposed to be about music, not dancing and poorly lip-syncing. According to the article, you "respect his music"? So you respect the fact that he is unable to perform live? Or you respect lyrics such as, "I'm killin' every n*gga that try to be on my sh*t" and "you f*ggots scared cause I'm too wild"? Or you respect entire songs about using women for one night stands (Damage, No Bullsh*t, etc)? Don't get me wrong, I've listened to songs of the like before, but I would never say I respect them. His music can be catchy and he has talent as a dancer, but past that, why is this awful person and barely-capable singer still being praised at all?

Want to say 1st - I am a fan of Miranda & Blake - but - Blake sang in tribute to Glen Campbell ------- who has been a woman beater for far longer than Chris Brown has walked the earth. So I cant agree with Miranda here. I also feel Chris was only 18 a the time, a mere boy - he has time to redeem his self! Mistakes happen and I hope he made a mistake & doesnt make a habit of it.

Um, last I checked, sleeping with someone who is still legally married but divorce papers have been filed is NOT a crime. But what Chris Brown did to Rihanna IS. So Miranda owes no such apology to Blake Shelton's ex-wife. Chris Brown will never pay his dues to Rihanna. Chris has permanantly scarred Rihanna emotionally with the crime he committed on her and apologies only heal so much. The difference here is Chris commited a crime, Miranda did not. Society will remind Chris of his crime the rest of his life, as they should. You scar someone, you shall be scarred too.

Miranda Lambert needs to concentrate on apologizing to Blake Shelton's ex-wife for sleeping with him while he was still married to her instead of throwing stones towards Chris Brown. Yeah, he made a mistake too and he apologized to Rihanna a hundred times and paid his dues to society, it is not right to hit a woman or anyone else for that matter, but should we hold it against him for the rest of his life? especially if Rihanna has forgiven him? How about Blake Shelton's ex wife who supported him throughout his career and left her in the dust when he met Miranda? She was probably heart broken and is barely getting by while Miranda sleeps comfortably in her big mansion at night knowing that she had an affair with Blake Shelton while he was married. So which is the lesser or two evils? Chris and Miranda have both hurt other people, and both left a lasting impression on the person they betrayed. The moral is Miranda has no right to judge anyone! look in the mirror before you go around casting stones on others....

I agree with Miranda Lambert on Chris Brown. What is wrong with this country that they let a bad boy back on stage and act as if nothing happened. Chris Brown needs to be shunned from the music induatry and be in jail where any other beater would be right now. If he did it to Rhiannna he will do it again and again. Once a beater always a beater.

Nicki Minaj's performance was horrible and she should not have been allowed to even perform that trash. I am thinking of the young girls that idolize her, like the sweet little girls from the Ellen show. Come on that was simply trash and should not have even been televized.

Adele was great. Jennifer Hudson was great.
