Crime brief: 37 thefts plague Ohio State's campus

There were 37 reported thefts on Ohio State’s campus from Jan. 24 to Jan. 31.

Two incidents were from an automobile, one that occurred at Panera Jan. 25 and one Wednesday at the SafeAuto Hospitals Garage near the Wexner Medical Center.

A male student reported the theft of his backpack from Jesse Owens North Recreation Center Jan. 25. Included were the student’s MacBook Pro, iPhone, bank cards, keys and other personal items.

A bike was reported stolen Monday from the Residence on Tenth.

A female staff member reported cruelty to animals Jan. 24 near the 12th Avenue and Cannon Drive parking lot.

A female non-affiliate reported a missing person from the 18th Avenue Library on Jan. 26 — the investigation into this incident is still pending.

There were seven traffic crashes on campus this week, all involving property damage and were without injury.

Three non-affiliates were charged with operating a vehicle under the influence in separate incidents on campus this week.
