Siblings' bond helps defeat rivals

When Veronica Jatsek looks back on her time at Ohio State, she does not just see the Big Ten championships she has won or the multiple All-American honors she has earned in track and field.

The senior also had her brother Lenny by her side through it all.

Foundation helps disadvantaged youth shine

Ryan Miller met his best friends Luke Fickell and Mike Vrabel on the Ohio State football team. They came in together as freshman and became close friends over the four years they spent at OSU.

"We developed such a close relationship through our bond with OSU athletics," Miller said.

Shooting course inspire s confidence

Carly Allen had never fired a gun before - at least, not until she walked into the shooting range in Converse Hall for the first day of an air pistol class.

"The first day I was kind of nervous, but after we started shooting I wasn't really scared anymore," Allen said.

Ohio State Senior and Columbus Comets Middle LineBacker

As Sarah "Sam" Favata stood on the sideline during the NWFA match-up between the Columbus Comets and the Cleveland Fusion Saturday, she wore a grimace for two reasons - the pain in her knee and her inability to rejoin the Comets defense on the field.

Favata, a senior in sport and leisure studies at Ohio State, started the game at middle linebacker, but was helped off the field after buckling her right knee during the Fusion's opening drive.

Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra and Tra-La-La Band to Play Skully's

After producing more than five albums and touring across the globe, the band Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra and Tra-La-La Band next plans to visit Columbus.

Formed in 1999, the Canadian band - whose title is often shortened to Silver Mt. Zion - consists of Beckie Foon on cello, Efrim Menuck on guitar, piano, vocals and sound effects, Eric Craven on drums and percussion, Ian Ilavsky on guitar and organ, Jessica Moss on violin and vocals, Sophie Trudeau on violin and vocals and Thierry Amar on double bass and bass guitar.

Changes to Women's Basketball Staff

To fill the spot left by former assistant coach Tamika Raymond, Women's basketball coach Jim Foster had to make some changes to his coaching staff.

In replacing the assistant coach, Foster promoted director of basketball operations Ed Baldwin to the assistant spot. Tanzania Williams, Raymond's sister, will take over as the new director of basketball operations.
