3:55 where the one girl pushed the other back in the mud was my favorite part. Everybody for themselves on Mirror lake night!

05 grad here. This is by far my favorite tradition. Between 2000 and 2005, the Mirror Lake jump got taken to a new level, and I'm glad the kids are keepin it up.

BTW - You have no clue what cold feels like unless you were in the 2002 jump. That had to have sealed the deal on the championship!

I was graduated tOSU, and the only time I jumped in Mirroe Lake was back in '96 on Thursday before the Meechigan game. Well there was nearly not as many students as these jumping in there were at least a couple hundred, and then there were scatters throughout the night. I was from NY and that was the first time I had ever heard of it, and the only reason was because of a girl down the hall in Patterson, who's parents attended tOSU in the 60's told all of us that you jump in Mirror Lake on the Thursdays before the Go Blow game. Although the tradition might not have been as popular as now, it's still TRADITION.

GO BUCKS!

This is nothin'! A bunch of my more nonconformist Oxley Hall dorm mates and I made a spot decision to swim across the Olentangy one spring evening in 1962. Besides the round trip, there was plenty of horsing around in the water, including diving back in from the west bank for the return trip. Harmless hijinks, yeah. All summer long I had a deep, honking, nonproductive cough that necessitated my sitting up to sleep. But I didn't really regret it all until the next fall quarter, when I took the hog production/management course as part of my Animal Science major, and we did a feeding experiment with pigs kept on slatted floors (a new wrinkle in farming at the time) in the old Artillery Barn at Lane Ave. and Olentangy River Rd. At the end of the experiment, the hogs were moved out and the floors were, ah, er, emptied into their drainage system, which led right into the river. Alas, the same course had been offered the last Spring Quarter as well.

What scares me is these are our future leaders. I still say this wasn't going on in the mid to late 80s. If there was anything going on that drew this kind of crowd I know we would have been there.

Oh, and kids, make sure to block off some time in the next couple of weeks to go to the doctor and get some antibiotics for your ear infections. :-)

Have fun kids and be safe.
