Nike unveiled the designs Monday for the Pro Combat uniforms that Ohio State will wear against Michigan on Nov. 27, the second consecutive year OSU will don the retro jerseys against its rival.

The Buckeyes are one of 10 teams to take part in the series, others include Miami (Fla.), Boise State and Virginia Tech.

OSU's uniforms will honor the 1942 team, which won the national title. The scarlet jerseys will have a camouflage base layer to reflect World War II and an American flag on the sleeve.

The flag is the same one that's used on military uniforms. It flies backwards to symbolize forward movement.

How about the FLAG being backwards. It this not disrespectful to our flag?

Never call your self "Loyal Graduate of Ohio State" again. You may be a graduate, but you are not loyal , you are a total idiot. Seriously, how can you say I hope Michigan upsets the Bucks. Your some kind of ignorant human being and you no longer have the privilege of being a fan of The Ohio State University. This was in response to comment posted by Anonymous Wed Nov 24 2010 15:13

I just wish the helmets would stay gray and covered with buckeye leaves. The red helmets just look tacky to me. I guess they wore red helmets that season, but their uniforms back then weren't covered in nike logos either.
Buckeye in Loveland, Oh.

I love it, the haters need to get over this. The important thing is beating Michigan again, and again. Still think i liked last years better, but this is a paying respect to the greatest generation, the men of '42. They did have more on their plate then a football game at the time. I miss seeing the leaves on the helmet, but watching "little maze and blue" and Rich-Rod get pasted in C-bus will get me over it.

Dude serously, they are paying Respect to the 1942 national championship team. a team that won the National championship and then most of them went off to defend this country in our greatest time of need. What the hell is more traditional than that? OSU always is paying respect to the past and this is just one more way of doing that.
I will slightly agree with the fact that they should have left the helmets alone though. especially becuase in 1942 most football players still wore facemaskless caps, not really helmets anyway.
All I can say is if you don't like it than SCREW OFF!!!!! they are still Scarlett and Greay and they are an OHIO STATE UNI!!

As a loyal Graduate of Ohio State I am saddened and disappointed over this slap in the face to the traditions of OSU. I had hopped that last years embarrassment with throw-back jerseys was a one time mistake, now it seems like OSU has succumbed to the almighty marketing dollar. Honestly, I am now rooting for Michigan to upset OSU and send a class act team like Michigan State to the Rose Bowl. OSU used to be the class of the Big Ten, now they have no class at all. Coach Tressel, how could you allow this?

Its funny that similar nike nfl uniform designs were "leaked" but, then found to be a fans art. hmmmmm. sounds a little suh-spish-kiss...hahahahah.

they should have definatly not changed our helmets, there is something about all those helmet stickers by the time we play that team up north that makes me proud to be a buckeye. solid tradition

I'm not an OSU fan--but this is tragic. Seiously..tradition is what M vs OSU is about, and this is like puking in the face of the tradition. Eff you Nike.

I bought one yesterday and the color is almost exactly the same as my regular home jersey. Its a little shinier than my normal one but that may be because its new. They look pretty good in person, but I think last years thowbacks were a little higher quality.

So the Georgia Bulldogs will be playing UM at Ohio Stadium saturday? That's what it looks like! Stick with the normal uniforms for such a huge, traditional, nationally televised game. When the country tunes in, everyone should recognize Ohio State in their traditional grey helmets, not wonder who is playing Michigan, or why OSU is wearing different unrecognizable uniforms.

I am a 40 year season ticket holder. I like them better than the 2009 version.

What is it with Nike and this color red? I feel like I'm looking at an Indiana or Oklahoma uniform!
