U.S. raiding food pantries

An Associated Press article in Tuesday's edition of The Lantern mentioned how many food banks are running low on supplies and are forced to cut portions. The rising cost of food, gasoline and other necessities is forcing more people than ever to look to charities for assistance. Even those who work full time can have trouble earning enough to really make a living, and have to cut costs whenever they can - be it foregoing health insurance or making an extra trip to a food pantry.

Some reasons to be thankful

By Seth Fishman

As the Buckeye nation disperses across the Midwest for a few days of pumpkin pie consumption and never-ending turkey leftovers, there are several things I would like to point out about the great city of Columbus and of course, our campus. OSU should can Coke deal

By Eddie Klatka

To quote Ohio State's Mission-Vision Statement, "As a 21st century land-grant university, The Ohio State University will set the standard for the creation and dissemination of knowledge in service to its communities, state, nation and the world. Our faculty, students and staff will be among the best in the nation." How then are we, OSU students, faculty and staff, able to allow a contract with corporations, such as Coca-Cola, whose business practices are unethical and immoral?

Pressing U.S. torture issue

Terror interrogation tactics questionable

To the Editor:
For about three years now I have been protesting the use of torture by the U.S. government. On Monday a journalism major named Ben Zenitsky wrote an opinion piece on torture in which he claimed that the use of torture by our government has "almost certainly" prevented attacks such as those of Sept. 11 from happening again. Unfortunately, Zenitsky gives no information to verify this claim.
