New Union to serve as meeting place for students

Making progress
The Ohio Union is just a giant hole on the corner of High Street and 12th Avenue, but in just two years it will be a bustling lounge where Ohio State students can hang out.

"If you think of the word 'union,' it's the coming together of people," said Tracy Stuck, the director of the Ohio Union. "It's the living room of the college campus. It's the place where we can come together and talk about anything."

Smaller student group hopes to transform USG

Ohio State students will soon be able to decide if the Board of Undergraduate Students will replace the Undergraduate Student Government.

"This is an opportunity for students to decide if they want more of the same or a different form of governance," said Olivia Bumb, a USG senator who initiated this reform.

OSU students hold vigil for deprived Gaza residents
Gaza's supply of electricity and humanitarian aid was cut off Friday after Israel declared the area a "hostile entity."

A group of Ohio State students held a candlelight vigil the same day to demonstrate their concern for the residents of Gaza.

Ohio State has been honored by the National Consortium of Academics and Sports for being ranked second nationally for former student athletes returning and completing their undergraduate degrees. OSU is one of 59 schools being honored on a degree completion honor roll because of its dedication to encouraging former athletes to finish their undergraduate degrees.

Students recruit for relay
Colleges Against Cancer had its kick-off event for Relay for Life at the Recreation and Physical Activity Center Monday.

CAC is an Ohio State student organization associated with the American Cancer Society that recruits OSU students to participate in the relay. The kick-off event was an open house where students could get general information about Relay for Life or sign up teams.

Students to visit Honduras
Katie Kinstedt will soon travel to Honduras to help provide clean drinking water for orphans with HIV and AIDS.

"I'm so excited to meet the kids, just know them and speak Spanish with them," said Kinstedt, a sophomore in chemical engineering.
