Man shot at Gateway

On Sunday morning at about 2:30 a.m., an unidentified man was shot in the South Campus Gateway Garage by a another male who was taken into custody by Columbus Police.

The garage was placed on lockdown for approximately 45 minutes while officers searched for a second male suspect, who was not found. It then closed for the rest of the night, and patrons were allowed back in the garage at 8:30 this morning.

Gee endorses trolley
There will soon be a new trend on the street - specifically High Street - that will make downtown Columbus more accessible to Ohio State students.

At a Columbus City Hall public meeting on Thursday, Mayor Michael Coleman presented a financial plan in support of the construction of a $103 million streetcar project that will span 2.8 miles on High Street from Mound Street to the OSU campus. The streetcars are projected to open in 2012.

When Drew Bruggeman arrived at his campus area apartment on West Eighth Avenue after a spring break trip to Florida, he placed his laptop on his desk and thought nothing of it. He was going to go back home for the Easter holiday and return at the end of the weekend.

But when Bruggeman, a senior in microbiology, returned to his apartment on Easter Sunday, his laptop was gone. So were two of his roommate's laptops and their flat screen TV.

Budget cuts shred summer edition of student paper

The Lantern is projected to lose more than $150,000 this year, according to School of Communication officials. In efforts to prevent further losses, the school decided to suspend the summer printing of The Lantern.

Ray Catalino, Lantern business manager, disagrees with the school and said cutting the summer edition will not save any money. He said he offered alternate ways to save money, such as only printing summer editions of The Lantern once a week instead of twice.

The Fuse Factory transforms science, new technologies and art into fun, educational and dynamic exhibitions open to the public.

"One of the best things about this exhibit is that many of the artists are here. I like being able to direct people to the artist," said Alison Colman, executive director and founder of The Fuse Factory Electronic and Digital Arts Lab.
