Battle of Bands plays for charity
The Aesthetics, a seven-member band from Columbus, wowed the judges at the 10th annual Romophos Battle of the Bands Friday at the Newport, defeating two other bands to win time at Blue Moon Recording Studio on Bremen Street.

The bands Seditious Libel, The Aesthetics and The Winks? competed, while Addison Lane headlined the show with all proceeds going to The Boys and Girls Club, a foundation helping teenagers become responsible adults and feel empowered.

BalletMet ends season with Romeo and Juliet dancing

Shakespeare's timeless classic is about to go for a spin.

BalletMet Columbus will perform "Romeo and Juliet" May 1-4 at the Ohio Theatre. The show will fuse dance and music in retelling one of the greatest love stories of all time. The epic tale of "Romeo and Juliet" combines love and romance, with conflict between two warring families.

No support for Tina Fey's Baby Mama'

Comedy is said to be a tough business because everybody has a different idea about what's funny. Sometimes the Hollywood studio answer to this conundrum is the "broad comedy." "Baby Mama" is a broad comedy starring two talented queens of comedy. Sadly though, "Mama" ultimately fulfills the old adage that in trying to please everyone, you will please no one.

My life is Women's Glee Club

I'm sure you've seen it, the trail of beautiful women dressed in black gowns and pearls walking across campus. Every couple of weeks they glide through the Oval holding black folders, hustling to their meeting place. You have perhaps wondered who they are. Are they a cult on their way to a séance? A group of Amish women who have forgotten their bonnets? Do they belong to the Renaissance club?
