English department offers Harry Potter class

Hannah Matus, a junior in political science, said "Harry Potter and English Comedy," a special topics English course she is taking this quarter, took her by surprise.

"I expected to be talking about the plot setup and prevalent themes ... but it's actually so much more than that," Matus said.

Quidditch becomes reality
On a Thursday evening, the athletic fields outside Lincoln Tower are filled with students. Some lazily toss around a Frisbee, while others send soccer balls flying into nylon nets.

And then there's the group running around with brooms and pelting each other with rubber balls.

Exceptional Ed try to find their indie niche
Local indie band Exceptional Edward is certainly taking a unique path to fame.

"Three of us (of four in the band) are married, we all have jobs, so obviously touring is out of the question," said Jason Turner, lead singer and songwriter.
