Men's cross country wins talent show

OSU third after regionals morning session

Appearing in the first NCAA tournament since 2004, the Ohio State men's golf team fired a 15-over-par score Thursday at the Scarlet Course, placing third in the morning session.

Eastern Michigan topped the Buckeyes by two strokes to take top-billing among the 12 schools. Illinois finished one stroke ahead of OSU to take second.

Ohio State's senior goalie had the play of the day in the first NCAA tournament victory in OSU men's lacrosse history.

After making his second save against No. 8 Cornell, Stefan Schroder was unable to clear the ball to any of his teammates. Instead of making a bad pass, Schroder decided to clear it himself.

Media leash not as tight for Trojans

For the Buckeye faithful looking to point and scream about a double standard, there is news out of Southern California this week about the preferential treatment of yet another athlete for the University of Spoiled Children.

One-and-done USC guard O.J. Mayo allegedly received about $30,000, which included a 42-inch flat-screen TV for his dorm room, hotel rooms, airline tickets for friends and family, meals and thousands of dollars worth of clothing from a "runner" while supposedly being a "student athlete" for the Trojans.
