Three more cars stolen

A 31-year-old woman reported that someone stole her Jeep Sunday afternoon or evening while it was parked in a parking lot near the 400 block of King Avenue.

A 23-year-old man says someone stole his Buick Sunday afternoon or evening while it was parked behind an apartment on the 2300 block of North Fourth Street.

A 25-year-old woman reported that someone stole her Buick Le Sabre Saturday night or Sunday morning while it was parked behind her apartment on the 1400 block of Belmont Avenue.

Students assaulted at Newport

Two students reported that they were assaulted at 9:40 p.m. Sunday at the Rockstar Taste of Chaos Tour at the Newport Music Hall. One of the students says he was punched in the face by an unknown suspect who kicked him when he fell to the ground. The other student says someone punched him in the face twice when he tried to leave to get security to help his friend. Security staff did not see who committed the assault, and both students refused medical treatment.

Man schemes to steal beer

A man entered the Exxon gas station store at 1866 Summit Street Sunday afternoon, bent down as if to tie his shoe, then grabbed two 18-packs of Budweiser and fled to a waiting vehicle.

Student’s home burglarized

A burglar entered a 31-year-old student’s Highland Street apartment Saturday night by cutting through a screen and entering the open window. The burglar stole two laptops, two cameras, a watch, cell phone, purse, wallet, checkbook and keys, valued together at $2,930. Some of the items were stolen from the foot of the bed were the student was sleeping. Police were unable to collect fingerprints from the scene.
