If anyone thought Urban Meyer would take a vacation once the hustle and bustle of National Signing Day passed, that person was poorly mistaken.

Just two weeks after securing the fourth-ranked recruiting class in the nation for 2012, according to recruiting outlet Rivals.com, the Buckeyes have already received commitments from the top two players in Ohio for the class of 2013.

Still four months away from completing their junior year in high school, defensive back Cameron Burrows of Trotwood-Madison High School in Trotwood, Ohio, and athlete Jalin Marshall of Middletown High School in Middletown, Ohio, rated seventh and 41st in the nation, respectively, by Rivals, have given verbal commitments to attend Ohio State.

Burrows, rated as the third-best defensive back in the country and a five-star prospect, recorded 46 tackles, four interceptions, and 12 pass breakup in his junior year, helping Trotwood-Madison to a 14-0 season and a state title. Burrows committed on Jan.19 and will help solidify the Buckeyes secondary likely at corner.

Marshall, who plays quarterback for his Middletown team, is listed as an athlete and is projected to play wide receiver or running back at the next level. He threw for 782 yards and six touchdowns and ran for an astounding 1,859 yards and 20 touchdowns. He committed on Jan. 30 and will likely be a wide receiver in Columbus as a speedy playmaker and possibly returning kicks.

The commitments are huge for Meyer and the Buckeyes, who will try to put a fence around Ohio's borders and reel in as many prospects from what is projected to be one of the deepest talent pools in the state in recent history.

Michigan coach Brady Hoke persuaded last year's top-rated player in Ohio, offensive tackle Kyle Kalis of St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio, to head north and become a Wolverine, after having previously committed to the Buckeyes.

But that was then and this is now. Meyer's recruiting prowess has been on full display for the world to see in his short time in Columbus.

And he wasn't done yet.

On Tuesday, Billy Price, a defensive tackle of Austintown Fitch High School in Austintown, Ohio, also gave a verbal pledge to Meyer, making the class three-deep. Price is ranked as the 11th best defensive tackle prospect in the nation, and 130th overall by Rivals. Price, a four-star prospect, gives the Buckeyes commitments from three of the top 10 prospects in Ohio.

But wait, there's more.

Defensive back prospect Eli Woodard, rated as the fifth-best defensive back prospect nationally and 28th overall, announced that he will be making his college decision this Thursday via Twitter. Woodard, the top-ranked player in New Jersey, was in Columbus this past weekend on an unofficial visit, and is said to be picking between OSU, Notre Dame and Rutgers.

Should Woodard commit to the Buckeyes, he would give Ohio State three of the top 41 recruits in the nation for the class of 2013. By comparison, the Buckeyes only had two commitments from the top 60 prospects in 2012, and that was a full year's class. National Signing Day 2013 is still more than 11 months away.

To be sure, nothing is set in stone. Meyer, who was recently the subject of criticism after signing players who had verbally committed to other schools, knows better than anyone that until there is a signature on paper, these players could change their mind.

But regardless of the possibility that these recruits will change their minds before National Signing Day 2013, Meyer is scary good at this stuff.

And with spring practice getting ready to begin, September creeps closer, and there is plenty to be excited about in Columbus as a new era begins.

Wow their are some real Meyer and Ohio state haters out there. Talk your smack when Meyer, miller and the rest of buckeye nation are hoisting the crystal football in two years. It's true what they say, people only hate you when their jealous. As good as our 2012 class is we already have more top 150 commits in our 2013 class with a lot of time to go. Keep hatin!

Typical FLA fan ranting I see. When Meyer was down south he was the best coach ever. Now that he's coaching elsewhere he's horrible. Wipe the tear away from your eye. Then again, if I lost Meyer and had Muschamp as my coach I'd be crying too...

Just so you know, Urban's last 3 recruiting classes fell completely apart! Only a few of tthe big names remain. The rest proved to be over-rated and fizzled. Plus, Urban realized that the spread just wasn't going to work anymore, in the SEC. Saban showed him what the new gold-standard was and that is power and speed. Meyer left behind a mess, at UF and for yo to say that we had "all that talent" is ignorance, at its best! No WR's that could play in the SEC, except Debose; a QB that had been miishandled for the previous 4 years and ruined; an undersized OL: no DE's; no DB's; and no power RB! That sure is a lot of talent. 80% of our starters, last year, were freshmen and sophmores. If Urban had built quality depth, we would have had more upperclassmen playing. Look at the facts, not what Urban said!

Only a tard would compare the records of a one year coach and a veteran head coach! When the 2 retire, that's when you compare their records, genius. I was responding to the article, which made it sound llike Urban was doing something no other coach had done and I used relevant facts! Urban will lose out on a lot of kids outside Ohio State, because the parents just don't like or trust him anymore. Just like Diggs' mother, who said, "I just don't care for that Coach Meyer"! So, he'll win some battles in Ohio State, but, he won't recruit the southeast like before. The word is out on Meyer down here and parents aren't going to let their kids go play for him.

Anger mngt.? Dude, I'm happy as can be. After we loss Mullen and Strong, Urban started falling apart, because he knew that what got him to the top had left. Tebow graduating was the icing on the cake! He knew that he couldn't compete with Nick Saban, Les Miles and Steve Spurier, without Mullen and Strong. So, once again, he grabbed his esophagus and ran toward Penn State. Penn State fell apart and messed up his plans; but, OSU was there for him, so he settled for his second option. Now, why would I be angry that a manipulative, lying coach left my school! To the contrary, I assure you! We have the coach we want - you keep Urban Liar! WA HA HA HA!

wow!!!! champ? of what? last i looked urb's won 2. last i looked champ...lol.... coached for a year with great talent around him (look at last 3 class ranking) and went 7-6. ok, that's what happens when you let a asst. coach a team (see buckeyes record from 2011). and as for talent at ohio state (see last 3 class rankings), and we have more pro's and more heisman's, equal talent. with urb adding his special touch and a eaiser road to the bcs plan to see urb's buckeyes there often. the point, in a year or two urb will be winning..... you know....1-2-3-5..crystal balls (no, i don't like L. James) and florida will be looking for a new coach. he'll be the champ of pumping gas. i love this game.

It sounds like you need anger management. Try diverting all of that hate energy into finding a job.

WOW! Meyer got 3 commitments! Like that's special or something? Muschamp had 4, within a few days of signing day and all four are rated higher than the 3 Meyer got. 3 more are expected to commit, after this weekend - one of them, the son of Fred Taylor, is one of the best RB's in the nation. So, get some of that, Mr. My Esophigus Hurts! There's a very good chance that Champ lands the #1 player, who could be the best defensive lineman ever. Meyer will never have another Tebox, Harvin, Hernandez or Spikes! Nor will he ever have another offensive coordnator, like Mullen, to make him look good. It won't be long and that ole esophigus willl start spasming again and the nut-cake fans will be saying, "Damn, those people were right about Meyer"!
