Seven former Ohio State football players have been invited to the NFL Scouting Combine to prove their athletic prowess before scouts and analysts.

The former Buckeyes invited to the annual event include tight end Jake Stoneburner, linebacker Etienne Sabino, fullback Zach Boren, offensive tackle Reid Fragel and defensive linemen John Simon, Nathan Williams and Johnathan Hankins, who chose to forgo his senior season at OSU.

Sabino, Simon and Boren all served as captains during the team’s undefeated 2012 campaign. Under OSU coach Urban Meyer, the Buckeyes finished No. 3 in the final Associated Press poll behind No. 1 Alabama and No. 2 Oregon.

The combine, which will be held Feb. 23-26 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind., features tests including the 40-yard dash, bench press, vertical jump, broad jump, three-cone drill and a shuttle run.

More than 300 of the nation’s top prospects are invited to the combine, which often has a direct correlation on the athletes’ NFL draft stock in April.
