Ohio State basketball's Aaron Craft on crutches after removal of bone spur

Ohio State basketball junior guard Aaron Craft is stuck on crutches and has a cast on his left ankle but should be ready for the 2012-2013 season with time to spare.
OSU athletics spokesman Dan Wallenberg confirmed to The Lantern that Craft has had a bone spur removed from his left ankle.
Wallenberg did not respond to The Lantern’s request for comment regarding the date of Craft’s procedure.
Despite having the ankle wrapped in a red cast, Wallenberg said that Craft, who started in each of the Buckeyes’ 39 games during the 2011-12 season and averaged more than 32 minutes per game, will be “fine in a couple weeks.”
Wallenberg also told The Lantern that while Craft has missed opportunities to play with his teammates this summer, he’s still getting workouts in.
“He can do all upper-body lifting & several modified lower-body lifting exercises,” Wallenberg said.
During the 2011-12 season, Craft averaged nine points per game for the Buckeyes while helping lead the team to an NCAA Tournament Final Four appearance. The OSU guard also tallied 98 steals and 126 rebounds on the year.
The Buckeyes have not announced their entire schedule for the upcoming season.
