OSU senior linebacker Zach Boren (44) stands over Michigan junior quarterback Devin Gardner (12) after making a sack Saturday. OSU won the game 26-21.
To quote ESPN sportscaster Brent Musburger, “Let’s party Columbus.”
After capping the program’s first undefeated season since 2002, the Ohio State athletics department will be honoring the Ohio State football team Dec. 7 at St. John Arena.
Under the direction of first-year coach Urban Meyer, the Buckeyes navigated their way to a perfect 12-0 mark after beating Michigan Saturday, 26-21.
Per an OSU athletics news release, the “skull session-like celebration” for the Buckeyes will be free and open to the public.
Besides Meyer and the team, the event will feature the likes of OSU President E. Gordon Gee, Ohio Gov. John Kasich and Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman.
OSU will also be presented with the Big Ten Conference’s Leaders Division championship trophy, which will be on hand before the event on the south side of the arena.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. before the OSU Marching Band takes center stage an hour later.
OSU officials are encouraging fans to park in the Tuttle Garage and the Ohio Stadium lot just south of the venue.
