As part of its Rivalry uniform program, Nike has designed a special uniform with cutting-edge fabrics and technologies (37 percent lighter!) to be be worn by the Buckeyes when they play Michigan, November 21, 2009.  This new uniform, inspired by the 1954 National Championship team, are meant to honor Ohio State tradition and accomplishment.  They were officially unveiled Monday at the Newport Music Hall for the Beat Michigan pep rally.  The team will return to wearing their traditional uniforms after the game versus Michigan.

I personally loved the uniforms. I thought the helmets were the coolest part. I thought they looked pretty cool and would like to see them wear em once or twice a season.

Funny, I thought I'd see a bowl win before I saw an alternate uni, but what do I know...

Save the money, lower my ticket price. This is horrible. Never do this against our biggest game of the year.

Throwback? You've got to be kinding me! Who does Nike think we are, Oregon? Just because Nike's president is an Oregon alum, who by the way have some of the ugliest uniforms in college football, and not to mention it seems like they wear a different uniform every game, doesn't mean they should have the right to re-design the uniforms for other college teams that wear Nike. I guess money talks. I just hope it doesn't jinx the Buckeyes on Saturday!

The jersey and pants are not bad. Helmets are awful! Not a fan of those at all.

These are not the same helmets. There was no number on the 1954 helmets. We have NEVER had that. Who are we, Alabama? Why are we claiming to be traditional by breaking tradition for the biggest rivalry in football? At least there is no nameplate.

NEVER?!? Try 1956-1961. I get so tired of people who don't know making statements like this.

The uniforms aren't bad, but the helmets are awful. Keep the normal helmet and it would look cool!
I also have to ask, "why at the Michigan game and why at an away game period?" Who are they hoping to pump up? Hope this does not jinx us for our 6th in a row!

Surprisingly, I actually like these "throw back" uniforms except for the helmets. I really believe that Ohio State should adopt these new uniforms permanently while keeping the current helmets. Nike's current version of the Ohio State jersey is awful. The marketing team at Nike either did not understand Ohio State's color identity or they were a graduate from Michigan. Which is totally plausible that a former alumni has to distort Ohio State's identity due to the fact that they can't play football anymore. BRING BACK THE GRAY IN OUR HOME JERSEY'S!!!

Are we Ohio State University or University of Oregon? Please keep our traditional jersey and helmet. The new design jersey looks OK but Helmet looks horrible.

If they are 37% lighter, why isn't the change permanent? Think what the new technology did for speed in swimming! I realize that this is purely a weight issue, and not the friction reduction that helped in swimming, but surely the lower weight is at least a slight advantage.

We can make any uniform look good! I like the current uniforms as well as the throw backs.
If you don't like them, too bad. I'm sure you're the type of fan we don't need.

Throwbacks r fresh, its not that big of deal, its one game, i dont like the jerseys we have now anyway. they took the grey stripes off, now they are predominantly black and red. I didnt know our colors were the same as georgia, since when are we black and red? Our colors are scarlet and grey, at least these new ones have an abundance of grey. The new turf feild we have on there has no grey on it what so ever, just white, black and red, it seems ridiculous to me.
