You have not been living a dream recently. The Ohio State hockey team – that’s right, I said hockey team – will host Lake Superior State tonight in the first CCHA playoff game for the Buckeyes since 1984-85.This year’s run was largely unexpected. I’ll admit, I was unsure as to the quality of this year’s squad before the season started. I figured this year would be a tuneup year for next year’s debut in the Jerome Schottenstein Center. The Bucks have quickly made believers of myself and many others this year. Since Jan. 9, the Bucks have ripped off a record of 13-1-1. That includes a 7-0 hammering of Lake State on that night. The Buckeyes have closed the season with four straight wins and haven’t really been tested in any of those, outscoring their opponents by a margin of 18-5.That’s roughly akin to the Green Bay Packers stampeding through the playoffs by a cumulative score of 126-35.It’s put up or shut up time for the OSU icemen. I have a feeling they’ll put up. If they get past this round, they advance to CCHA semifinals and finals in Detroit. Then, it’s on to Boston for the NCAA Championships.Do you believe in miracles?
