I looked at the article you wrote. I guess it was accurate in the fact that Jaci DeSantis had apparently been drinking, but anyone reading that would assume she was just another wild, drunken college student. That couldn’t be farther from the truth. According to her friends, Jaci would not drive when and if she drank. She would stay over with friends. She enjoyed a house party with music and being with friends over bar hoping. But, that evening she apparently made some bad choices. All we know is that she was with friends until about 12:20 a.m.One of them was a boy named Matt who admitted giving her three beers. First he said she left after that. Then he said he feel asleep. The fact is he gave a minor alcohol. The police know this but I guess it`s not important. We are not looking to blame others. Jaci needed to be responsible for herself. We don’t want to sue anyone either. I would not take a penny from anyone over this tragedy. However, over the last month I’ve gotten comments and remarks about many incidents of people getting on the freeways going the wrong way. I’ve heard this from a Columbus Dispatch writer and an editor. What about the on/off ramps? Are they properly marked? Are they confusing? It is your City and Community. I would think this is something worth looking into.As for me, I do not ever want to go back to Columbus. Jaci was very small and three beers would have made her intoxicated under the law but I doubt she was in such a state as to blindly drive the wrong way for over four miles.Maybe I’m being a typical father but if the freeway markings etc. had even a small part in this, it could happen again.I apologize for the length of this but losing her has devastated our family. We will never be the same.I miss her greatly as all that knew her do. She touched a lot of people in a positive way. This was demonstrated by the people who came to her funeral. There were even teachers from the third and fifth grade as well as some from high school.I guess I just want people to know she wasn’t a wild kid. But, she was very young and the young carry the feeling of invincibility. We all have and will have close calls throughout our lives. We usually learn from them. I hope the other kids down there can learn from this. You may edit, print or dispose of this as you like. Thanks you for your time
