The final results of the Undergraduate Student presidential and senate elections were not released last night, as was widely expected. They will be released tonight at 10 p.m. in a room yet to be determined at the Ohio Union, according to an announcement on USG’s Web site.

According to USG president Aftab Pureval, the Elections Governing Board was still holding hearings to discuss accusations of campaign violations, and the final results were also still being certified. For those reasons, the election winner was not announced last night.

The new leaders will be inaugurated on Saturday, May 7. They will take over for Pureval and Deb Mason, who won last year’s presidential election with 47 percent of the total vote. About 16 percent of the student body voted in last year’s election.

Complete results of all elections will appear in The Lantern tomorrow and will also be posted on www.usgonline.net.
