Men rob university store at gunpoint

Two armed suspects robbed the UniPrint on Millikin Way Wednesday around 6:15 a.m., police said.
The suspects, both described as black males wearing ski masks, forcefully entered the store and assaulted a UniPrint employee, striking him with what was believed to be a handgun, said Ohio State Police Chief Paul Denton.
The suspects fled in a “white, four-door Cadillac with an undetermined amount of cash,” Denton said. “We are examining videotapes from security cameras in the area.”
Denton described campus business robberies as an “extremely rare occurrence.”
“Fortunately, no students or staff members were in danger at the time,” he said. “We believe the suspects immediately fled campus.”
In the hours after the robbery, UniPrint employees were working to serve customers from a tent outside of the store, said Liz Cook, a spokeswoman for the Office of Media Relations.
By noon, UniPrint had re-opened, Cook said.
“The hope was that not too many students or clients were inconvenienced,” she said.
The police are continuing work on the case and have shared information with other local law enforcement officials about the robbery.
Anyone with information can call the University Police at 292-2121 or report an anonymous tip to University Area Crime Stoppers at 247-8477.
