Even if you’re already a big fan of Polaris Fashion Place, Dave and Buster’s is a new reason to make the trip.

The grand opening was on Monday, and the location is the 55th Dave and Buster’s restaurant to open since the franchise began in 1982. It is the second one to open in the Columbus area, following the location in Hilliard.

Jan Harper, general manager of the store with five years experience at the Hilliard location, said the mall setting is more likely to attract families.
“We’re hoping to bring an entire new market up here,” Harper said.

Every year, Dave and Buster’s has more than half a million visitors per store, and Harper said he expects the same numbers at the Polaris location despite the reduced size.

Harper said the Polaris location has all the same games as its Hilliard location, as well as games no one else in the country offers.

The 17,000 square-foot restaurant features a 48-foot granite bar, 24 50-inch flat screen TVs, two high-definition projector screens and a Million Dollar Midway, named for having $1 million worth of arcade games.

A big promotion at D&B locations is the Eat and Play Combo, offering guests the opportunity to enjoy one of eight signature entrées and a $10 Game Card for $15.99.

Guests can double the purchase with a $20 Game Card and entrée for $23.99.

Notable games are Guitar Hero, Dance Dance Revolution, Big Bass Wheel and Nascar.

Harper said no game station is complete without Skeeball. In this game, the player rolls solid balls up a ramp toward targets to try to score points. Tickets won in Skeeball and other games can be exchanged for prizes at the Winners Circle, many of which are Ohio State- and Cincinnati-
themed.

With more than 80 ticket-dispensing games to choose from, customers who want to win aren’t likely to walk out empty handed.

“It is a place to have fun with great games and great food,” customer and Columbus State student Derrick Dillard said.

It also offers flexibility. It is open 365 days a year for lunch, dinner and late night dining, with buffet options for corporate events.
