The Ohio State Athletic Department will be moving across the river from its home at St. John Arena. In February 2010, administrative staff located at the arena will begin their move to the Fawcett Center, said assistant athletics director Tom McGinnis.

Staff from the Woody Hayes Athletic Center and the Schottenstein Center will also move their offices to the Fawcett Center in order to “consolidate the administrative units,” McGinnis said.

Those currently working in the Fawcett Center will be moved to the Student Academic Services Building, which will consolidate offices of Student Financial Aid, the University Bursar, the University Registrar and Minority Affairs. It is also set to open in February.

St. John staff members will be moved in phases after the present staff has finished relocating.

The new space is much needed, as staff members are “working out of closets,” McGinnis said.

Staff who remain at St. John Arena, including OSU coaching staff members already in the building, will be allowed to exapand into the to-be-vacant space.

A total of about 110 staff members will be affected by the move.
