Beginning today, the two westbound lanes of Woody Hayes Drive will be closed from Tuttle Park Place to Cannon Drive. The two eastbound lanes will remain open allowing traffic to travel east and west.

Construction that began this summer will resume to replace deteriorated steam and condensation lines, said Al Stazzone, project manager.

The project will also provide chilled water and steam service to the new Student Academic Services building and Lane Avenue Parking Garage, according to an Ohio State news release.

“We anticipate some congestion at the Tuttle and Woody Hayes intersection, especially in the early evening,” said Sarah Blouch, director of Traffic and Parking. “We will have officers there to work traffic signals if need be.”

Stazzone expects the transition to two lanes will be smooth.
“It worked pretty well last year. Traffic shouldn’t be bad,” he said.

The two westbound lanes are expected to reopen in May.
