Buckeye baseball coach Bob Todd became the 41st coach in college baseball history to reach 1,000 career wins when Ohio State knocked off Richmond 20-9 on Sunday. Todd has been at the helm at OSU since 1988 after four years coaching Kent State. Under his lead, the Buckeyes have won the Big Ten regular-season title seven times and the conference tournament on eight occasions. The team won all three of its games this weekend in its season-opening series in Jacksonville, Fla., outscoring its three opponents 40-12.

Sophomore Zac Dalpe scored with 1:36 remaining to push the Ohio State men’s hockey team to a 3-3 tie in regulation Saturday against Western Michigan. The Bucks then went on to win a six-round shootout 1-0. OSU defeated the Broncos Friday by a score of 3-1. Dalpe had two goals in the victory.

The OSU women’s hockey team concluded its regular season with a loss and a shootout victory in a pair of games against St. Cloud State. The Buckeyes needed two late goals to extend the game into overtime Saturday. After a scoreless session, the Buckeyes prevailed in a three-round shootout. The Women’s Collegiate Hockey Association conference tournament begins Friday in Madison, Wisc.

Beware of the Crimson Tide. The Ohio State softball team (6-4) fell to No. 8 Alabama 7-1 on Sunday, its third loss to the Tide in as many days. With the loss, OSU finished second at the Hatter Invitational in DeLand, Fla. Alabama beat the Buckeyes 5-3 on Friday and 5-4 on Saturday. OSU knocked off Stetson and Rhode Island in between the three ‘Bama beatings.
