Ohio State field hockey senior tri-captain Jenn Sciulli, a back on the No. 17-ranked Buckeyes, was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, the Big Ten announced on Tuesday.

Sciulli led the Buckeyes (10-7, 3-2) to a 2-0 win against No. 8 Penn State on Saturday with a goal and an assist. This is the fourth weekly honor of her career.

The captain scored the second goal of the match off of a penalty corner in the 52nd minute to seal the Buckeyes’ win in State College, Pa.

As an offensive and defensive threat, Sciulli is now second in the nation in defensive saves, recording nine stops. She also has collected a season-high 14 points on four goals and six assists.

Sciulli did not immediately respond to The Lantern’s request for comment.

The Buckeyes finish their regular season at No. 20 Northwestern at 4 p.m. Friday in Evanston, Ill.
