A health care collaboration between Columbus and Cleveland was announced this week, with a plan to make medical technology available to a larger audience, faster.

The announcement came in a Tuesday news conference with representatives from Cleveland Clinic Innovations and Ohio State’s Technology Commercialization and Knowledge Transfer office near OSU’s campus.

The university and Cleveland Clinic will determine 20 technologies to focus on commercializing initially.

The two institutions will be targeting neuromodulation, the use of electrical stimulation, as one of their initial projects under the new collaboration. Both institutions have explored the technology previously.
