While most of America will be tuning into the Olympic games for the awesome athletes or to count broken world records, many fashionistas will be watching for something entirely different-style. Yes, I’m serious. The impeccably designed track suits for the Olympic athletes of the United States for the Opening Ceremony, are beyond words. (I think I have coveted one from the time I was 13 years old.) Ralph Lauren, as always, has done an incredible job capturing the essence of American athletics in style.

Since most of us cannot afford such sweats and none of us will ever look as good as an Olympic athlete wearing them, here are some other ways to show your true colors as you cheer on the red, white and blue.

Track jackets: These are far more fashionable than a zip-up hoodie and are actually incredibly easy to find thanks to brands such as Nike, Adidas and Reebok. The jackets come in many different colors and range from ultra-modern to vintage feels. Soccer players generally wear this style jacket as a warm-up, so you’ll probably have an easier time finding something relating to that sport compared to others.

Basic T-shirt: Plenty of brands are looking to show their support for the U.S. by designing basic T-shirts relating to the games. The GAP has shirts with very classic styles that can be worn anywhere and are relevant to the games happening this year. Other stores such as Urban Outfitters and Bloomingdales are producing shirts that look slightly worn with “USA” printing in block letters across the front. Simple, but effective. (You’ll even want to wear these after the Olympic games are over.)

Nail trends: Thanks to Pinterest, patriotic nail trends are popping up everywhere. Many are super simple to do and only require basic red, white and blue nail polish painted in a pattern on your nails. You can also opt for designs like stripes or even printing “USA” on your index, middle and ring fingers. As long as you stick to our national colors you’ll be considered a true fan.

Stars and stripes: Want to really push the envelope? Try something like a blue and white seersucker blazer over a red tank. Or try seersucker pants with a star-patterned shirt. It’s a bit unconventional, but allows you to show your more creative side. You can pair this look with white Converse sneakers to keep your look more casual.

Of course there will always be basic options such as American flag patterned bikinis, denim jeans with flag patterned pockets and even a tank with an image of the flag on it. The list goes on and on. This is the time of year to be proud to be an American and take a step further by showing it. During the Olympics, the style of athletes and fans matter. It shows your support as well as reflecting the culture of your country. Think about it: how much do you love seeing Michael Phelps in his USA-inspired Speedo and swim cap? Exactly.
