Scottish singer, record producer and songwriter Calvin Harris turns heads once again with the release of his third album “18 Months.”

Harris’ edgy vocals carry the album, which relies heavily on collaborations with popular artists like Rihanna, Kelis, Ellie Goulding and Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine. Adding vocals from other talented musicians was a good choice on Harris’ part because the female vocalists add a nice kick to the music.

Harris’ new album is full of electric pop that would easily fit in at any nightclub. The song “We Found Love,” which actually features Harris on Rihanna’s track, is a classic example of catchy club music that everyone can easily sway their hips to. Rihanna’s voice gives the song a seductive twist as she sings, “We found love in a hopeless place / Shine a light through an open door / Love and life I will divide.”

Another great song on “18 Months” is “We’ll Be Coming Back.” in which Harris’ sturdy vocals add an intense tone to the lyrics, “We’ll be coming back for you one day.” Mixed in with a consistent beat, it’s no surprise that this song has played on repeat on my laptop.

I’m sure just about everyone has heard Harris’ hit song, “Feel So Close,” the album’s third track. The song speaks to Harris’s infatuation with being in love as he sings. “Your love pours down on me, surrounds me like a waterfall / And there’s no stopping us right now / I feel so close to you right now.”

Some of the songs on Harris’ “18 Months” are ones audiences have heard before, but there is great impact in Harris compacting 15 catchy tracks into one full album.
