Prior to Monday’s National Championship Game between Ohio State and Oregon, Buckeye fans came out in droves to support their time at the “Buckeye Bash”— an OSU pep rally sponsored by the OSU Alumni Association.

As the OSU Marching Band blared fight song after fight song, fans heard from big names from OSU, including President Michael Drake, who was blown away by the support from the fans in Dallas.

“There’s a great love for the Ohio State University and it shows at events like this,” Drake said. “Every game is like a home game for us. It’s really a wonderful thing.”

Drake went on to say that in addition to having “The Best Damn Band in the Land,” OSU is home to “The Best Damn Fans in the Land” as well.

“Between the level of support from the alumni and the people of Ohio have for our university, it’s unparalleled,” Drake said. “We have the best fan base in the world.”

Whether or not OSU fans are the best in the land remains to be determined, as does the winner of the first-ever College Football Playoff National Championship Game, which will take place on Monday night at 8:30 E.T. from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Tx.
