Defensive end Alex Williams will not be straying too far from home as he will go from Pickerington, Ohio, to Columbus to play for Ohio State.

The Pickerington North product chose Ohio State a day before the signing day, decommitting from West Virginia and committing instead to the Buckeyes.

Williams is the second-lowest ranked recruit in the Buckeyes’ class. The three-star weak-side defensive end is the 590th-ranked recruit in the nation per 247Sports Composite Rankings, and is the 32nd-best at his position. He is the 26th-best prospect in the state of Ohio.

The last recruit that flipped commitments from West Virginia to Ohio State was redshirt sophomore defensive tackle Robert Landers. Landers, a former three-star prospect and Dayton, Ohio, native, decommitted from West Virginia on Dec. 16, 2014, and committed to Ohio State the same day. He signed his letter of intent on Feb. 4, 2015.
