Ohio State named Gail Marsh as its first-ever chief strategy officer Friday.
The position was created as part of the university’s development plan, called Time and Change. Marsh will “establish a university-wide strategy management office to lead coordination and implementation of our vision for the future of Ohio State,” according to a news release.
She has previously served as the university’s senior associate vice president in the Office of Health Sciences and chief strategy officer for the Wexner Medical Center. She served in the role since 2003. As part of her medical-center role, she was responsible for advancing its strategy and development.
“Gail will help position Ohio State as a model for strategy development and execution,” said University President Michael Drake in the release, “working closely with leaders in all units and disciplines to manage, measure and further ensure our progress.”
Marsh will continue to serve as president of Ohio State Health, Inc. and the Ohio State Health Network, a network of rural hospitals throughout the state.
