A former Ohio State student was killed after a two-car crash on Summit Street and East 15th Avenue around 2:15 a.m. Saturday.

Alex Linard, a 23-year-old from Dublin who was last enrolled at Ohio State in Autumn 2017, was pronounced dead on the scene, according to the Columbus Division of Police. He was driving southbound on Summit Street when his car collided with Samuel Sharifi’s, which was headed east from 15th Avenue onto the same street.

Summit Street is a one-way road that runs south toward downtown Columbus.

Sharifi was not injured. He was riding with one passenger, Adam Lowe, was treated for injuries after the crash and a passenger of Linard’s was not harmed.

The accident is an ongoing investigation by Columbus Police.

Correction: a previous version of article stated Adam Lowe was driving in a vehicle involved in the accident. He was in fact a passenger.
