An unknown person tried to enter a Buckeye Village apartment 2 a.m. Monday, but did not gain entry. At 4:30 a.m., an unknown male entered an apartment in the same complex through an unlocked first floor window. University Police believe these two incidents are related, according to a public safety notice issued Monday morning.

When the suspect was inside, he threatened to physically harm and inappropriately touch a woman and hurt her child, according to the safety notice. No injuries were reported to the woman, who is not affiliated with the university, or her child.

The suspect was wearing a mask at the time, so details on his appearance are not known.

University Police is asking for any information about this incident to be reported by calling 614-292-2121. Police will increase patrolling in the Buckeye Village area, according to the public safety notice.
