Working toward a dream: DACA recipients at Ohio State

This is a gross mischaracterization of the majority of DACA recipients. Salvador Diaz-Garcia, 23 and a DACA recipient, allegedly raped a 19-year old woman in a Seattle apartment complex’s gym and left her with missing teeth. The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported that a 12-year old girl in the same apartment complex said that Diaz-Garcia had been starring at her while she was at the pool. Then there is the case of Oliver Funes-Machado, 18, who was charged in March with beheading his own mother. Funes-Machado was living with DACA status in North Carolina at the time and was originally from Honduras. Emmanual Jesus Rangel-Hernandez received DACA status after being placed in deportation proceedings following drug charges. USCIS admitted that they gave Rangel-Hernandez DACA status even though they knew about his gang membership. Rangel-Hernandez later would be charged with four counts of murder. It’s tragic what is going on in these countries but open borders and amnesty is NOT the answer. It’s disgusting that a public university that receives Federal funding is advocating for such lawlessness. Americans are dreamers too.

    • Art Schlichter was a DACA member? If you have 880,000 folks in a program, you are going to find a bad person here and there. That does not mean the extending educational opportunities that were brought here as children is promoting open borders. Not every Italian kid is mobbed up either. Why do right wingers constantly try to use the extreme exceptions to make rules? Use some common sense one time.
